the Feature Films ‘Bedazzled’ with Liz Hurley, and ‘The Importance of being Earnest’ with Dame Judy Dench.  He has
also starred in the West End  hit comedy play ‘Come into my bed’ at the Whitehall theatre.

His hobbies are collecting vintage broadcast recordings from Television and Radio, among his favorites are Al Jolson,
Bing Crosby and Max Miller.  Barry first worked in Radio in the late 60’s and early 70’s as a DJ on Hospital radio in
Greenwich, only stopping this work to become a Butlin Redcoat.  Occasional Radio work came his way as a professional
artiste in South Africa, where he was touring as compere of the Lena Zavaroni Show, various interviews for BBC and
Commercial stations, a guest appearance on Loose Ends with Ned Sherrin on radio 4, and several “voice overs” for
commercials.

In Spain, Barry was featured weekly on OCI joining Vince Tracy to present his ‘Show time’ featuring popular musicals.
Barry is delighted to join the team at Fab FM.  Barry can be heard Monday to Friday on Fab FM presenting the The
Festival of Britten Show from 1-3 but as Barry says “This will be a show with a difference! Music on the gentle side to
help you laze away the afternoon, along with any news items of interest, and a few laughs”.   Barry Britten’s ‘Special’
music from the 50’s 60’s,70’s, and 80’s featuring Melodies, Memories, and Musicals.

The music Barry plays reflects his own personal taste, and the records come from his huge library of recorded music,
and he’d be delighted if you would like to request songs and singers you haven’t heard in years.  “I know from listener
feedback, that the music I play brings back so many happy memories, and even revives times that had been forgotten”.

I think it’s important that this ‘middle of the road’, ‘easy listening’ music does not disappear and that as many people as
possible get the chance to hear and enjoy the many great performances that exist on Vinyl and CD, and why not while
you are eating your toast and cereals or snacking at lunch times.

I have always wanted to work on radio and present ‘my’ kind of music.  Now that I am doing that and finding that it is
being enjoyed by so many listeners gives me great pleasure, those good old days really were something special”.
