Whatever your mood Drive Time with Eric Taylor provides something extra
Eric joined the Royal Navy in 1963 as a Stores Accountant and spent over
twenty-three years in service, reaching Chief Petty Officer Caterer before retiring
in August 1987.
Between 1965 to 1967 and again from 1977 to 1978 Eric worked aboard Britain's
greatest aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal, where he was the Petty Officer Stores
Accountant with 892 Naval Air Squadron, Phantom Fighter Jets.
It was on Ark Royal that a desire to be behind a 'Mic' first developed. Eric first
worked as a radio presenter in 1965 on Ark Royal's Radio Station and continued
in 1976 after he returned, Eric was known as The Disco King due to his "bouncy
choice of music."

Eric's love of the microphone continued following his retirement from the Navy. His first task was as Mobile DJ in the
1970's on the South Coast which continued until his move to Spain in 2001.
His time on the Ark Royal did pay off when he became a Presenter on former O.C.I radio.
Aware that there was a lack of information and media awareness for live entertainment on the Costa Blanca, Eric
proceeded to take over the entertainment listings (gig guide) in the Costa Blanca News and Round Town News for the
north area of the Costa Blanca. That progressed to his writing a weekly column on Live Entertainment News for these
newspapers.
Eric bit the bullet in September 2004 and married Angie who is the owner of Panache, Unisex Hair and Beauty Salon,
For the past six years Eric has organised the Moraira International Music Festival that takes place in June during the
Moors' and Christians' Fiesta celebrations.
Whilst operating his mobile disco that Eric opened the Moraira Music Agency, giving him the ability
to support local venues and artistes. However, despite the agency's success it closed to allow Eric
to commence work as a presenter at Onda Cero International Radio.
